A George III shaped oval bread basket on a pierced foot with husk borders, the sides pierced with trellis work and chased with bow, floral and foliate swags and paterae, the beaded swing handle pierced with rosettes, the centre engraved with an armorial, crest, monogram and motto and also with presentation inscription, the underside engraved with initials, a monogram and a date, Charles Aldridge & Henry Green, London 1776 - 13¾in., 28oz.

The inscription reads:"A TOKEN of the SINCEREST LOVE and BLESSING, from an anxious MOTHER is convey'd in this trifling Basket to her BRAVE AND GENEROUS SON GEORGE O'MALLEY, which she hopes he will regard and never part, for the Donor's sake, Elizabeth O'Malley". The armorial is that of O'Malley impaling another.
