The brig Laurel of Greenock, 272 tons, was built at Greenock in 1827 for Boag & Co. who ran her between Glasgow and Demerara (South America), probably in the sugar trade. Her first master was Captain E. Paul and, by 1840, she was owned by him and his associates. Trading between the Clyde and Montreal by the time she was sold to Campbell & Co. in 1846, her regular destination was then changed to Jamaica and other West Indian ports. She disappears from Lloyd's Registers after 1850.
