The three-masted ship Beeston Castle, 1,005 tons, was built in 1857 for Rennie & Co. of Liverpool. Measuring 179 feet in length with a 35½ foot beam, she spent her life trading between Liverpool and India but disappeared from Lloyd's Register after 1871.
