A fine and rare bisque shoulder-headed doll in Patriotic Costume from the American Civil War Period
with painted features, blonde hair moulded in ringlets and stuffed body with kid arms and individually stitched fingers, dressed in original red and white striped silk skirt with blue silk bodice laced at front and trimmed with gilt metallic lace, organdy blouse, red silk sash decorated with gold paper stars and metallic lace, underwear, stockings and silk slipper tied with red and blue silk ribbons - 19in. high, circa 1865 (one slipper missing, some paper stars missing)
