RAY DANIEL
Ray Daniel was born in Swansea on 2nd November 1928 and as a 15 year- old he appeared for his local side Swansea Town. In August 1946 he joined Arsenal and because of National Service he did not make his senior debut until May 1949. He made over 80 League appearances for Arsenal before being transferred to Sunderland for (30,000 in June 1953. After over 130 League appearances for Sunderland, he briefly joined Cardiff City in October 1957, before rejoining Swansea Town. Thereafter, he joined Hereford United as player/manager and had seven successful years there in the Southern League. Daniel had a successful International career for Wales and between 1951 and 1957 he played for his country on 21 occasions.
