Although dated 10th February 1893, this medal must relate to the match played at Ulster Grounds, Belfast on 10th February 1894 before 5,000 spectators. In this match the Football League defeated the Irish League 4-2 with goals from Wheldon (2), Geary and Wykes. Wheldon at this time was still playing club football for Small Heath.
