FRANK MOSS Born in Leyland, Lancashire on 5th November 1909, Frank Moss joined Preston North End on amateur terms in October 1927 from Lostock Hall. He turned professional in February 1928 and joined Oldham Athletic in May 1929. In November 1931 he joined Arsenal for (3,000 and helped the Gunners to their three consecutive Championship wins, 1933-35. He retired through injury in 1936 and became manager of Heart of Midlothian in March 1937. He kept this post until 1940 when he was called up to do his war service. He made 4 full International appearances for England, including the infamous 'Battle of Highbury' and 2 for the Football League. Although uninscribed, the above medal relates to the 1932-33 Division 1 Championship, when Arsenal won the Championship with 58 points, Aston Villa being runners-up on 54 points. Moss made a total of 41 League appearances for Arsenal this season.
