WILLIAM STRUTH
William Struth succeeded William Wilton as manager of Rangers on 2nd May 1920. Previously, he had been the club's team trainer and under his guidance from 1920 to 1954 the club won an incredible 19 League Championships. There were also 10 Scottish Cup and 2 Scottish League Cup victories. Arguably the greatest-ever Rangers F.C. manager, the 'light blues' also won the Glasgow Cup 18 times and the Glasgow Charity Cup 20 times whilst he was the manager. Struth became director/manager of the club in 1947 and retired as manager in 1954 with Scott Symon taking over. On September 21st 1956 at the age of 81 William Struth died and was buried at Craigton Cemetary a short distance from the club which was so much part of his life.
