Lot Essay

The Peerless was similar to the original Nicca camera. It was supplied by Nicca to the Peerless Camera Stores of New York and according to HPR very few were supplied. The example illustrated in Leica Copies is numbered 24001 and the numbering follows that of the Nicca cameras with
1947=Showa 23 = serial no. 23xxx
This example dates from 1948 (Showa 24). The camera is not recorded in Sugiyama et.al.
