A blue and white octagonal jar painted with a broad band of coiled winged dragons among cloud scrolls and above foaming waves, the foot with floral lappets, the shoulder with ruyi heads of chrysanthemums, lotus and peonies, with a Safavid gilt copper pierced domed cover and collar decorated with cartouches of figures and animals on a ground of dense scrolling foliage (cracks to porcelain and restoration to foot, minor damage to cover) -- 17in. high, the porcelain Wanli, the metal ware 17th/18th Century.
