Lot Essay
The above jersey is believed to have been worn by the Liverpool goalkeeper Ray Clemence in the 1970-71 F.A.Cup final, when Arsenal defeated Liverpool 2-1.
The vendor of the lot won the jersey which was donated by Ray Clemence in a raffle as part of the Testimonial Year devoted to Clemence in 1979. It was raffled as the jersey worn by Clemence in the F.A.Cup final and was subsequently autographed by the Liverpool team prior to an F.A. Cup quarter-final tie against Tottenham Hotspur circa 1979. The autographs include, Ray Clemence, Phil Neal, Alan Hansen, Sammy Lee, Jimmy Case, Phil Thompson, Kenny Dalglish etc.
