A large baluster vase painted and gilt with a continuous scene of a long procession of figures carrying a palanquin, boxes, baskets, flags and banners, a group of ladies and children playing in the foreground, all below a dark blue ground shaped collar with fan shaped panels of ladies and children and birds among geometric patterns and ho-o roundels (broken in half and restuck, hole to one side) -- 18½in. high, signed Kyokushosai.
