A Chinese export lacquer rectangular games box and cover painted and heavily gilt with a central medalion with a monogram MMJ surmounted by a stylised goat on a ground of a scene of a mountainous landscape within floral and geometric borders, fitted with four boxes and covers and four trays similarly decorated containing approximately three hundred and forty mother-of-pearl gaming counters of rectangular, oval and circular shapes, the majority incised with the monogram EA and similar crest to the box -- 14¾in. wide; another similar lacquer box and cover painted with a river landscape within fruiting vine, containing five boxes and covers -- 11¾in. wide; and another lacquer box and cover painted with baskets of flowers fitted with three boxes and covers, two further boxes and twelve card trays -- 13½in. wide.
