A katana with rounded rectangular iron tsuba decorated in gilt bronze with a bird and a bat in flight, the silk bound shagreen hilt mounted with brass menuki modelled as dragons, gilt bronze fuchi-kashira decorated with further dragons among clouds on nanako grounds, aogai sprinkled black lacquer scabbard -- the blade 27½in.long, the blade and the mount circa 1800.
