A fine late 19th/early 20th Century display model of the pulling/sailing Folkestone lifeboat 'J. Mc.Connell Hussey'. Measurements overall -- 14½ x 37in (36.8 x 94 cm)
With lowered masts, rigging and rolled-up and tied and stitched linen sails, rope coils, Samson posts, axes and other tools, buckets, lantern, oars and boat hooks, fore and aft lockers, life belt and many other details. The hull, mounted on a four-wheeled launching trolley with metal furnishings and shafts for two horses, is fitted with rowlocks, grab-ropes, luffing holes, lowering rudder and yoke with appropriate tackle. Finished in R.N.L.I. livery with hand-painted lettering and varnish. Glazed mahogany display case
