A fine builder's half-block model of the barque 'Minnyhive' built by Robert Duncan & Co., Port Glasgow, 1885. Measurements overall -- 12½ x 39¼in (31.8 x 99.7 cm)
With carved female figurehead, cathead with lion's head decoration, cleats, bollards, wood capped deck rails, companionways, belaying rails, hatches, deck houses, capstans, deck lights, ship's wheel and binnacle and other details. Finished in varnish and black with brass fittings and gilded bow decoration. Original mahogany glazed case (one pane of glass cracked)
