An ebonised and mother-of-pearl-inlaid writing cabinet, handmade by Louise Rollett from a design by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, with two doors inlaid with panels of fruitwood, enclosing a fitted interior of pigeon-holes, sliding writing surface and central 'Weeping Rose' panel above a shaped apron and divided open compartment on plinth base -- 37in. (94cm.) wide.

The cabinet-maker was given special permission by the Hunterian Art Gallery, Glasgow to produce this one-off copy .
It is a modern replica of the original desk (now at the Hunterian Art Gallery, Glasgow) Mackintosh produced for his own use, having been influenced by an earlier model he produced for Walter W Blackie Esq, Hill House, Helensburgh, 1904.
