A gilt bronze mounted white marble and nero Belgio portico clock, the drum shaped case with circular white enamel Arabic dial, signed Faisant a Paris, within a beaded bezel, the going barrel movement with anchor escapement and countwheel strike on a bell, surmounted by the figure of an eagle with outstretched wings, the tapering column uprights decorated with trophies, flowerheads and ribband ornament with inverted baluster flaming urn finials on paw feet, the rectangular plinth inset with a foliate cast frieze below a stiff-leaf gallery on toupie feet, with pendulum and winder, mid 19th century -- 20½in. (52cm.) high.
