A kingwood, gilt-metal-mounted and line-inlaid bonheur du jour, of kidney-shaped outline, the superstructure surmounted by a clock, fitted with two doors with an open compartment below, flanked by a tambour slide to either side and twin foliate candle branches, with a tooled leather-lined writing surface fitted with a frieze drawer, with two doors to either side on square tapering legs terminating in sabots, French, late 19th century -- 41in. (104cm.) wide, 45in. (114cm.) high, 22in. (56cm.) deep.
