Lot Essay

The book contains two original watercolours of birds by Hector Giacomelli (1822-1904), signed, one on the half title and another inserted at the front. His illustrations for Nos Oiseaux "décèlent des qualités de dessinateur de tout premier ordre" (Benezit).
