The blundered touch to the base with a rose and thistle below W.____, possibly of William Charlesly, London.

The inscription on the present flagon probably relates to that of Sir John Fryer who was Master of the Pewter Company in 1710 and again in 1715. The flagon was possibly made as a gift to him by William Charlesly in 1717.
