An oak chest, with plank lid above lunette and blind fret-carved friezes and triple panelled front with foliate arcades on Ionic column supports, around a geometrically inlaid centre (mostly lost), on stile feet, repairs, lined with 18th century hand written verse and bills, English, early 17th century -- 53½in.(136cm.) wide.
