A Japanese parure comprising a crucifix and chain, a brooch, a pair of studs, a pair of earrings, two bracelets and two hairpins, all worked in high relief with silver, shibuichi, shakudo, copper and gilt with birds among fruiting vines, eagles chasing sparrows among flowering trees, cranes and quails among hydrangea, wisteria and peonies, the clasp of the crucifix formed as millet sprays, the studs, earrings and hairpins modelled as open fans (part of one bracelet with chain missing) -- the crucifix 3in. long, one stud inscribed M.Davenport, Japan 1875, fitted Hunt Roskell case.
