A mid 19th Century 12in. gauge probably patent or demonstration copper, wrought iron and wood model of an 0-4-0 locomotive built with the 'Cambrian' drive system patented by J. Jones, Bristol. Patent No.9116 dated 7.10.1841 -- 26 x 37½in. (66 x 95.3cm.)
with riveted copper boiler, unclad, with fittings including level test cocks, salter safety and other valves. Chassis details include wooden members with fletch plates, transverse and centrally mounted cylinder with rocking levers and four connecting rods, cast wheels with round spokes, unpainted.
