A set of three Chinese export plates
each painted and gilt with a coat of arms and the motto 'Decus Summum Virtus' around a central quatrefoil panel depicting a figure on the banks of a river overlooking a walled pavilion, two further river landscape scenes to the rim with figures before boats with their sails unfurled and flags flying -- 9in. (22.9cm.), circa 1745, (some enamel and gilt rubbing).
The arms are those of Hoburne of Menstrie, Baronets of Nova Scotia.
