Lot Essay

John Boyle, the fifth Earl of Cork, was a friend and admirer of Swift and Pope. This copy is annotated in pencil by the architect John Wood the younger, in particular passages relating to his father, "Wood of Bath". One note is signed and dated by him June 1775.
