AFTERNOON SESSION AT 2.OOpm.
The Barnes Collection of Dinky Toys, 1932 to 1953
The pre-war section of The Barnes Collection is the finest and most comprehensive ever to come to auction - it includes at least one example of almost every motor vehicle, set and accessory produced. The post-war section is also very comprehensive, including previously unrecorded variants, as well as rare colours and export issues.
The condition statements take the age and the type of models into account, which have been carefully selected for the minimum possible amount of fatigue and it is detailed where applicable, but typical minor wheel hub fatigue is not. Reference to sets does not necessarily imply that their contents are as they left the factory, owing to the great difficulty in finding good items from this period, but could be made up with original and correct pieces.
All pre-war models in the collection are deemed rare, with particularly rare items singled out. Post-war models are presented in catalogue order within chronological groups that detail the sequence of production variations.
