Two joined embroidered panels, finely worked in coloured silks in many different stitches against an ivory silk satin ground, the upper section with a noble couple, the gentleman holding a flag, with a country house behind and animals and flowers, the lower panel with two ladies, one with a fish, the other with a bunch of carrots, with fine houses behind, the figures and animals in raised work, originally probably casket panels--11in x 13in., framed and glazed, English, mid 17th century
