An [?] Indo-Persian silver metal celestial globe, signed Nasser al-Rayn Altavee, with engraved date 1190h [1776-7, but later].

An unusual Islamic celestial globe, diameter 6 inches (152mm), the sphere elaborately engraved with Ptolemaic constellations, some with unusual iconography depicting mythical beasts, others the more traditional figures, the numerous stars indicated by an engraved circle and point, the ecliptic and celestial equator graduated in degrees and labelled in abjad letter numerals, further engraved with the tropic and polar circles, the names of the constellations and major stars, on later stand.
