A decorative brass armillary sphere, in the manner of the antique, diameter 9½ inches (240mm), overall height 23 inches (580mm). The lacquered brass sphere with adjustable ecliptic engraved with the signs of the zodiac, the meridian circle engraved in four quadrants, the central brass sunball with surrounding arms supporting representations of the earth, moon and the seven planets, the armillary sphere supported on the shoulders of a bronze figure of Atlas, mounted on a ebonised wooden plinth.
