Comparative Literature:
H. Granville Fell, Sir William Reid Dick, K.C.V.O., R.A., London 1845, plate 2.
Jeremy Couper, Nineteenth Century Romantic Bronzes, London 1975, p.98.
First cast in 1911, The Catapult appeared in two sizes of which the above example is the smaller. In this charming figure, Reid Dick has skilfully captured the tension of the boy's body as he draws back the catapult to its full extent.
