A pair of gilt bronze chenets,
the design attributed to Philippe Caffiéri, each modelled with a seated putto, emblematic of the Arts, one representing sculpture, the other letters, the shaped plateaux decorated with paterae and acanthus, the terminals surmounted by globes, on paw and toupie feet, both stamped on the base Y, probably French, 19th century -- 17¼in. (44cm.) high, 14½in. (37cm.) wide. (2)
