Lot Essay

This serving-table is 17th Century in feel but is a design much worked on by the architect: the exhuberantly waved stretcher enlivening the plain sober design of the piece, the subtle fielded divided panels to the drawer fronts and the elongated 'vase' turnings at the top of the legs lighten the design with typical Lorimer whimsy!
