A Continental 19th Century silver-gilt inkstand
of oval form, the cover applied with a god and a godess, the former seated on seahorses, the latter on an elephant's head, with a bowl-shaped inkwell and a detachable sander modelled as a classical building with recumbent god surmount, the base moulded with dolphins and waves, classical figures and trophies, the lower part opening to reveal a pen box, Neresheime, Hanau - 7in. (17.75cm.), 44.50oz.
