A Chinese blue and white cider jug and cover
with Buddhistic lion finial and entwined branch handle, painted with the 'Trench-Mortar' pattern with a continuous scene of a thatched farmhouse on the banks of a river below a band of Fitzhugh pattern to the neck -- 11in. (28cm.) high, 18th century, (restored).
The Trench Mortar pattern was used by various English Factories including Spode and Newhall.
