A George III tea urn
of ovoid form, on a gadrooned and floral and foliate-chased square base on scrolling foliate feet joined by rococo floral and foliate aprons, the waisted stem pierced with arabesques, the body chased with rococo flowers, foliage and C-scrolls and with a dolphin tap with ivory handle, two applied rococo foliate branch handles and a gadrooned rim, the similarly-chased waisted cover with finial modelled as a Chinaman seated beneath a parasol and holding a cup of tea in his right hand, the front of the urn later-engraved with an armorial within a patched cartouche, Emick Romer, London 1767 - 22¼in. (56.50cm.) overall, 84.25oz. gross.
