Two Meissen figures of Bacchus and Ariadne
after originals by E. Meyer, the young Bacchus modelled standing, his elbow raised holding grapes and a goblet, wearing loose drapes painted with indianische Blumen, a hare hanging from his shoulder, leaning on a ewer garlanded with fruting vines, Ariadne wearing similar drapes beside a flower-encrusted urn, both supported by hollow mound bases moulded with scrolls, enriched in colours and gilt, blue crossed swords marks -- 9¼in. (23.4cm.) high, circa 1755
