Accompanying correspondence states
On the bezel hinge is a punched no. 1857. Accompanying research documents state that the clock number 1857 with the suffix S.E. is associated with the Southern Railway and the T.S.S. 'Biarritz' and was sold by Southern Railway in March 1965.
