A well detailed boxwood rigged model of a French Naval Cutter, built by K. Britten. Measurements overall -- 12 x 10in. (30.5 x 25.4cm.)
With bound masts, yards, standing and running rigging with scale blocks, catheads, anchors, windlass, gratings, stove pipes, belaying rails and pins, two ship's boats with thwarts and oars, one in stern davits, main deck guns in carriages, shot racks and shot, companionway and other fine detailing. The solid pine hull, planked and pinned in boxwood, is finished in black and matt varnish. Mounted on two turned columns on inlaid base with domed glass cover (2)
