with karako finial and pierced handles, painted and gilt with shaped panels of ladies and children at leisure on a riverbank and officials and ladies before pavilions, all on a dark blue ground further decorated with mon and foliage -- 13½in. (34.2cm.) high, signed Satsuma-yaki Hotoda Gyokusen, (gilt rubbing.)
