with bronze handle and mounts, decorated in hiramakie, takamakie and kirigane with a lady playing a musical instrument in a hut beside pine and wisteria on a riverbank, the sides similarly decorated, the interior in nashiji -- 4.in (10.2cm) wide, 17th/18th century, (chips and old wear); and a black and gold lacquer rectangular box and cover decorated in hiramakie with fans among scrolling foliage -- 3.in (7.6cm) long, (old wear).
