A Chinese lac bergaute rectangular box and cover
decorated with confronting coiled dragons among clouds, a flaming pearl and a line of calligrphy, the interior fitted with a set of twelve inksticks carved with flowers representing months of the year including roses, dianthus, mallow, lilies, narcissus, wisteria, cockscomb, apricot blossom and others, the reverses with poems highlighted in gilt -- the box 16½in. (41.9cm.) long, (crack, old wear and minor damages).
