A Namban export lacquer rectangular cabinet
with bronze mounts, decorated in shagreen and hiramakie with shaped cartouches of buildings and shrines among pine in rocky landscapes within geometric borders, the two doors opening to reveal ten sliding drawers decorated with further shagreen within cell pattern borders, on a later English painted stand on cabriole legs, fitted with a sliding drawer with ring handles -- the cabinet 24¾in. (62.9cm.) wide, Momayama Period, the stand 18th century, (the exterior badly worn, chips and damages).
