An enamel-mounted walnut clock
the central enamel finial flanked by a pair of turned finials and supported on the interlinked wings of two female figures, the central circular aperture now with a white metal pocket watch by E.T. Stoner, Watch and Clock Maker, Red Lion Street, Hailsham, on a moulded plinth with foliate boss and enamel plaque supports, the spreading base with enamel plaque depicting the triumph of Galatea, signed I.R. 1559, on turned waisted feet, the signed enamel attributed to Jean Reymond, the enamel damaged at one end, 19th century -- 12¼in.(31.5cm.) high
Further details
Jean Reymond (d.1602/3) was the son of Pierre Raymond, and the brother of Joseph, all three of whom were distinguished enamellers in the 16th century.
