the case with fielded brass-lined panels and glazed pierced foliate gilt-metal sound frets above the dial, with ebonised ripple-moulded cornice and base, the stepped chamfered top with pineapple finial, with cornucopiae ring handles to the sides with glazed fishscale sound frets, on rectangular plinth base with ball feet, the white-painted Roman dial with part-pierced spade hands, the twin wire fusee movement striking on a (replaced) bell, the backplate with incised border -- 18½in.(47cm.) high
