Born in Paris of Spanish parents, Vinès, along with many young painters in Paris between the wars, was influenced by a variety of post-cubist styles, ranging from the bold, abstract palette of a Matisse to a subtle, intimist work of a Bonnard. He exhibited his portraits and landscapes at the Salon d'Automne and Salon de Mai. Much of his work is in private Spanish collections.
