ebonised and gilt-metal-mounted, with a marble top and foliate-decorated frieze, enclosed by a pair of glazed panelled doors, the borders veneered in scarlet tortoiseshell, inlaid with a marquetry of cut brass heightened in stained ivory and pewter, flanked by similarly decorated stiles, headed with caryatids with dolphins, on bracket feet with a Bacchanalean mask, stamped 213 and Pretot -- 43½in. (110cm.) wide, 15in. (38cm.) deep, 37in. (94cm.) high
