A George II coffee pot
of tapering circular form, on a skirted foot and with a leaf-capped foliate-chased rising curved spout, replacement leaf-capped double scroll handle and domed hinged cover with baluster finial, later-chased and embossed overall with arabesques, one side chased with a vignette of two figures, the other side engraved with a crest, the underside scratch-engraved with initials, Isaac Cookson, Newcastle 1758, the handle bearing later hallmarks - 8½in. (21.50cm.), 20.75oz.
