A bronze of this sculpture is in the collection of the Ulster Museum, Belfast.
Anna May Wong (1907-1961) was a Chinese-American actress who attained great popularity during the 1930s. Probably the best known of the movies in which she starred was The thief of Bagdad in 1924, and Shanghai Express in 1932.
