An evening ensemble of pale pink crêpe de chine, the top with tulip peplum, the straight skirt slit to the knee, with elaborately beaded belt, labelled Warner Bros. Pictures Inc, inscribed 739-658 A & B, made by Adrian for the 1946 Warner film Humoresque; and a gentleman's suit of brown pin-striped wool, lined with brown satin unlabelled, allegedly worn by Sidney Greenstreet. Adrian was ..one of the few top designers that could do both exquisite period costume and also provide elegant..stars such as Joan Crawford..with fashionable wardrobes. The rag trade were always interested in Joan Crawford's clothes and with the full co-operation of the studio's vast publicity machine, would copy the clothes quickly enough to get them to the shops for the film's release..
